Durabuilt Windows and Doors Built for Interior Weather
Summer across the Okanagan brings long stretches of hot, dry weather and strong sun. Homes here are built for the view, which usually means large areas of glass on the elevations that catch the most of it. Lakefront properties get reflected light off the water on top of the direct sun. All of that turns into heat in the room behind the window.
Durabuilt gives us two ways to handle it. Solarban Low-E blocks the sun’s heat from entering the home, which suits exposed lakeside and afternoon elevations. Sungate Low-E allows a comfortable amount of that warmth through, and it works well on homes already shaded by deciduous trees or deep overhangs. Argon fill comes standard on both.
Winter asks a different question. Interior shoulder seasons swing above freezing through the day and back below it overnight, and that repeated freeze and thaw is hard on aging seals and frames. Durabuilt triple pane units insulate up to 60% more than dual pane, which keeps the inside surface of the glass warmer and helps control condensation on cold nights.
Doors take the same swings. We install Durabuilt entry doors, sliding patio doors and hinge patio doors, fitted to seal properly through winter and operate smoothly through summer.
